UHV Graduate | My Daughter-in-Love Jessica

Jessica came to our family when she was just 16. She was so sweet and fell in love with my son Jonathan pretty quick. Jonathan was pretty smitten himself! Quick story - they fell in love, had a baby, got married and then had another baby. That's the quick version - there was lots of ups and downs along the way but they made their way through all of those. In the meantime, although she was married with two babies, she was determined to get her education. She enrolled at VC with the intention of being a teacher. She was working full time at Faith Academy at the time and although she loved the children, she was slowly realizing that maybe being a teacher wasn't what she wanted to do after all. She didn't know what she wanted to do but knew it wasn't teaching. She picked Criminal Justice because it interested her. As she took classes, she realized she loved her Psychology classes. She ended up adding a minor in Psychology to her degree!

It took her 5 years. She worked full time those 5 years, she was a wife, mother and Crossfit competitor. She even became certified and taught Zumba during some of that time. What a wonder woman! Of course you can't leave out her family. My son Jonathan stepped up and supported her every single step of the way. While working full time and taking any side job he could find, he made sure the family was always taken care of. He cooked supper, did laundry, and gave Jessica all the time she needed to achieve her dream of a college degree. And their daughters Loni & Bri also pitched in by giving their mommy her quiet time to study. 5 years later, she is a college graduate with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Psychology. !! I am super duper proud of every single one of them!!

Jessica is the poster child for No Excuses. Yes it was hard. Yes, everyone made sacrifices. But she kept taking one step in front of another towards a better life. Hard work, commitment and determination will fulfill all your dreams!!

Congratulations Jessica! I am so proud of you. I know there are great things in store for you, Jonathan and those precious baby girls!! I love you.
