As I was going to St Ives....

Do you remember the nursery rhyme "As I was going to St Ives"? The second to the last line from the rhyme said "kits, cats, sacks and wives". That line keeps coming to mind whenever I think of my last photo shoot.

I was asked to photograph the Mitchum family at their beautiful country home. I could ask for a better place to take photos, the inside of this home is warm and gorgeous and the outside has lots of land, trees and a lake. All perfect backdrops. And the family was also a pleasure to photograph, they are all so good looking! So why does the rhyme come to mind? Because in addition to mom & dad, there was their daughter and son-in-law, 2 grandmothers, two sets of twin boys, two children, one set of twin dogs, a big loopy silly dog, an older dog, a huge lizard (yikes!) and a very camera shy cat! Wow! And I photographed them all!

But I had such a good time. Joyce and I have been dear friends for years and everytime I visit her home, I always feel like I'm in a home that is bursting with love. She and Jeff have two of the most well behaved boys I have ever met in my life. And most kids will pose for pics for about 20 minutes, maybe 30 tops, but all of these kids were so happy to just pose as long as we wanted them too. The twin grandchildren were the same way - - very, very well behaved and so sweet. Joyce & Alyssa should start mommy blogs and give parenting advice!

I wish to thank the Mitchum family for always welcoming me into your crazy, loving home and for allowing me to capture your memories!
