Great Gatsby

What a week this was! I worked for two days in Sinton this week. The first day was tough on me because I was having "female issues". Cramping all day long. Plus exhausted. But I got through the day. My co-workers and I had a nice dinner in Corpus before heaing back to the Best Western in Sinton for the night. Rooms were surprisingly clean and comfortable, I was looking forward to just setting in, reading my book and getting some much needed rest. Wasn't gonna happen. Not with the tailgate party going on in the parking lot! How does a hotel allow that kind of activity to go on throughout the night? I finally fell asleep around 1:30 am. There was STILL music and loud laughter going on outside my room. I don't know what time those people quit and went to bed. Amazed me there were signs at the front desk advising what you would be charged if you stole a towel yet its obviously perfectly acceptable to party in the parking lot all night long. GRRR. I was so irriated!

I don't have to tell you that the next morning came way too fast. I don't know about you but I never trust hotel room alarm clocks. I always use my cell phone to wake me. The first time it went off I swiped the screen thinking it would buy me a little snooze time. WRONG! I cut it off. Well God is good to me and woke me up at 6:30 am. Not happy that I didn't get my snooze time in but I forced myelf out of that bed. Oh what's going on? My friend Joyce Mitchum has me so paranoid about picking up bed bugs from hotel rooms. But that's not the bug I woke up to. I woke up to a stomach bug. Whaat? Let's add some stomach bug cramps to my female cramps. And too much time spent in the bathroom. Oh my gosh. I was misearable. What a long day this was. Three days later, I'm still not well. I am still getting cramps every time I eat! What's up with that? And you'd think I could report to you that I lost a few pounds this week. I should have - couldn't eat much at all. But no. All these ailments causing major bloating. I can barely get my jeans on. Story of my life.

In spite of all this, I have enjoyed my weeked. Finished the latest book I've been reading - Sycamore Row by John Grisham. Not his most facinating book by any means but an OK read. Had a happy ending. My two granddaughters - whom I simply adore! - spent the night with me last night. We had so much fun reading, watching TV, doing crafts and just enjoying one another. I have a super large couch that we all camp out on when they are here. I love falling asleep and waking up to those sweet faces. Spent all day Saturday with them, dropped them off with their parents around 4:00 this afternoon. Had to head to a photo shoot!

Tonight is the Junior League's annual Charity Ball. Their theme this year is Great Gatsby. I had the pleasure of photographing Junior League Member Lea and her fiance Chris this afternoon before they headed out to the Ball. They looked stunning and were so fun to photograph. You could tell they were excited to be all dressed out and going to a glamorous and fun function. Lea had her hair and make up professionally done and looked flawless. Chris looked smokin hot!! Couples don't get any better looking than this! I added several pics from my shoot to my website. Check them out! Let me know if you like!

I have spent my Saturday night working and editing their pictures. That may not sound real glamorous for Sande - well it's not but it's what I love to do. I am so proud of these pics. And I finally got to use my new lens that I ordered a couple of weeks ago. It's awesome, takes amazing pics but is heavy as all get out! Adding that lens plus my flash to my camera has created an upper body work out for me! And people say I don't exercise. Hmph. Whatever dude. I'm lifting weights, doing squats and power walking. Wish I could tell you this is making me lose weight. Oh well, you know the story.

I hope that you all have had a wonderful weekend. I have. Until next time! Smooches!
